Legacy
Tokunbo’s Kitchen was founded by Tokunbo Koiki in 2015 with the aim of introducing Nigerian cuisine to the global food landscape.
Tokunbo means ‘From across the Sea’ in Yoruba – a language and tribe from Nigeria. In true embodiment of her name, Tokunbo has brought her heritage from across the sea sharing her passion for the numerous culinary delights that Nigeria has to offer.
From a young age, Tokunbo was taught to cook by her mother who encouraged her to share this skill with family and friends. This passion of bringing people together and preparing meals for them continues to be her north star.

At Tokunbo’s Kitchen, we invite the world to eat with us through carefully designed menus that appeases the traditionalist whilst also delighting those new to the bold flavours of West African cuisine.
Our cooking features the finest, freshest, local and seasonal ingredients. Sprinkled with some of the more traditional West African grains and proteins to bring a taste of sunshine right to the heart of London. All our meals are meticulously managed by founder Tokunbo Koiki, who makes sure all dishes leaving the kitchen maintain our high standard.
We believe food is something to be enjoyed with others.
For us, eating is a communal affair whether you are sharing our dishes as a family or with strangers at one of our events.
